Macquarie University PC Labs at C5C now open, Rms 211, 213 & 217
(20/08/07) Macquarie University’s three new PC Labs at Building C5C are now open.
The PC Labs are available for Macquarie University and NCELTR students use only in Rooms 211, 213 and 217. The total number of PCs available in the new C5C Labs is 122.
Student IT Support for the PC Labs is available from Student Central at C5C in Room 244.
The PCs have been relocated from Level 1 of the Library in response to student feedback requesting better access to PCs.
The new location at C5C now provides many added benefits to students including easier access, a more centralised location, easier viewing to see when a PC becomes available and fewer queues. The PC Labs also offer the only general purpose PCs for students on campus. All PCs offer Microsoft Office 2003, SPSS and web browser.
Opening hours for the PC Labs and Student Central are as follows;
Monday to Thursday 8am – 8pm
Friday 8am – 6pm
Saturday & Sunday 9am – 5pm
Level 1 of the Library is now being developed into a student-centred learning space to provide a flexible area for students to use technology, to work collaboratively, and for individual study. This will include a large area for laptop use, access to new equipment such as interactive whiteboards, and a more casual seating area. The space will also allow the Library to explore the possibilities for designing learning spaces which will inform the fitout of the new Library building due for completion in 2010.
