Jane Macquarie's Tomb
Octr. 16 Thursday ! ---
The Tomb finished some time since over the Grave of my
beloved Wife was this Day uncovered -- and the Cadjan Building 1. erected over it
during the Rains was entirely removed. ---It is very elegant and by far the most
so in the Burying Ground. ---This is my Angelic Jane's Birth Day! -- and it is in
honor of it that I had her Tomb uncovered and displayed to Public view. ---Had
Heaven spared her precious dear life -- she would only be this day Twenty Eight
Years of Age ! ---But alas! I was not doomed to be so happy. ---
