Macquarie University Digital Theses Program
The Macquarie University Digital Theses Collection contains digital versions of Macquarie University Higher Degree Theses deposited with the Library. The theses will be included in Macquarie University Research Online and the Library’s Catalogue.
All available Higher Degree digital theses can be located in Macquarie University Research Online by performing a keyword search for Thesis or in Macquarie University's Library Catalogue by performing a title search for Australasian Digital Theses.
Macquarie University is also a participant in the Australasian Digital Theses Program (ADT), which is a database of digital versions of Doctorate and Masters by Research theses from participating institutions. Through the ADT Program the theses will be available via the internet. The aim behind the program is to provide access to, and promotion of Australian research to the international community.
Any Doctorate and Masters by Research digital theses deposited with the Library will also be submitted to the Australasian Digital Thesis Program.
Because of system developments at ADT and the Library, Macquarie's theses are not currently being loaded to the ADT site. We anticipate that the loading of theses will commence in the first half of 2008.
Guidelines for Thesis Authors
To submit your digital thesis:
- Read the Digital Thesis Submission Guidelines [pdf]
- Read and complete the Digital Thesis Submission Form [rtf] before submitting the digital copy of your thesis.
- The Digital Thesis Submission Form is to be submitted along with relevant digital documentation to the Higher Degree Research Unit. For further information, please contact hdrexam@vc.mq.edu.au.
- If you are concerned about copyright and future publication issues, contact the Copyright Coordinator
- If your thesis is a ‘thesis by publication’ there could be additional copyright issues. If you have any queries, please contact the Copyright Coordinator about copyright issues
- If you wish to restrict access to your thesis for a certain period you may apply to the Higher Degree Research Committee, with the support of the Head of Department. See the Submission Guidelines for more information.
- Make sure your thesis is in electronic format (for example PDF or Microsoft Word) and copied on to a CD or floppy disk. The preferred format is PDF. For multi-media theses, please contact your Liaison Librarian.
If submitting in PDF format please do not incorporate any security or access protection measures into the file as the library may need to make minor adjustments eg, aligning the file names to fit ADT conventions, creating a "font" file for the title page, abstract, contents pages, lists of tables etc.
