Contents of the Collection
The Curriculum Resources Collection contains a wide variety of classroom
support materials and resources for lesson preparation and teaching in
student practicums. These complement the education-related resources in
the main Library collection used for tertiary-level teaching and research.
The Curriculum Resources Collection primarily supports two schools at Macquarie University:
The School of Education, including its Teacher Education Program (TEP) for primary and secondary school studies (K-12)
The Institute of Early Childhood, including courses for the study and teaching of children aged 0 - 8 years (pre-school and classes K-2).
The collection is shelved, where possible, in one sequence A - Z by Library of Congress call numbers. Items integrated on the shelves include serials, videos, smaller kits, games, audiocassettes and computer software. Exceptions are over-large items such as Big Books, large kits, models, toys and realia. Print resources include:

- blackline masters
- big books
- readers
- curriculum documents
Other Non-book Materials are available for loan to IEC and TEP students for practicum purposes only, such as:
- puppets
- puzzles
- manipulative games
- musical instruments
- realia
- models
- stuffed toys
- computer software.

Resource File
A collection of ephemeral material which may only be used in the library,
housed in filing cabinets.
Audiovisual Resources include:
- cassettes
- videos (VHS format, PAL and NTSC playback facilities available)
- slides
- overhead transparencies
- models
- microcomputer software (for loan to IEC and TEP students only)
- multimedia kits
- music CDs (for loan to IEC and TEP students only)
- computer CD-ROMS (for loan to IEC and TEP students only).
Audiovisual materials for other subject areas are also held in the AV Collection also located on Level 3 of the Library. When looking for audiovisual items, note the location on the catalogue: Curric or AV Area
