Holds / Recalls


Restricted to Macquarie/SIBT Staff and Students

How to place a hold via the web

If a Library item is on loan to another patron, (indicated in the catalogue by the statement by On loan followed by the due date), you may place a hold on that item.

All items on loan from the Library Main Collection are subject to recall.

The due date of a recalled item will be changed to a minimum of one week from the date of recall.

Please check your email address regularly.

A hold notice will be sent to your email address to notify you when the item is available. You can also check in Borrower Information which lists both Holds Pending and Items Available

Holds are collected from the Resource Collection Point, level 2 and must be collected BEFORE the indicated expiration date.

Items that may be placed on hold:

Items that may not be placed on hold.

  1. Items on loan to another patron.
  1. Items with Check Shelves status. (These items are not on loan)
  2. Reserve and 7 Day Loan items.
