Reciprocal Borrowing - Borrowers from Other Institutions
University Library Australia is a national borrowing scheme which allows students and staff of Australian Vice Chancellors Committee (AVCC) member universities to obtain borrowing privileges at other member libraries.

Application Forms
Applications to obtain borrowing privileges at Macquarie University Library should be made via this application form.
Students must provide a photo ID (preferably their student ID card) and proof of address e.g. student ID card with year of enrolment indicated, and a drivers licence. If your student card does not have the current year indicated you must provide some other proof such as your fees receipt.
Staff must provide their current University staff card and proof of employment e.g. current pay-slip.
A fee of $50.00 per academic year (inc. GST) will be charged to students. Borrowing privileges will expire on 31st March of the following year. There is no charge for staff.
Payment enquires can be made at Borrowing Enquires, level 2 in the Library.
The annual closing date for applications is the 31st December. A new application is needed each year.
Once registered, each person will be issued with a Macquarie University Library photo ID card.
Allow one week from the date of application before you proceed to the Student IT Service Desk, Student Central in Building C5C room 244, to have your photo ID made.
Once issued, you MUST use your Macquarie University Library photo ID card to borrow from the collection.

Fines and fees are imposed for the late return of Library material and may prevent borrowing. You will be liable for the full replacement cost, minimum $100.00 and a service fee of $22.00 for any long overdue, lost or damaged item. Information about current outstanding debts will be forwarded to your University Library each year, which may choose to impose sanctions against you.
Borrowing Limits
- Undergraduate Student and General Staff 5 books for 2 weeks
- Coursework Students and Research Students 10 books for 2 weeks
- Academic Staff 20 books for 8 weeks
Fines
Overdue items will incur the following fines:
- Material from the Main Collection $1.00 per day
- 3-day loan material $5.00 per day
Access is not available for:
Reserve material, Inter-library loans, Reservations, Renewals, Closed collections and material from the National Centre for English Language Teaching and Research (NCELTR).
