Campus Card - FAQ
Do I have to load funds on to my Campus Card?
No. You can use the card as a reloadable debit card or not. It's up to you. If you need a card with value on it but don't wish to use your card you can purchase a generic "Reloadable Debit Card" from $2.00 from the card dispenser in the Library. This card will operate in exactly the same way as the current photocopy card does. This type of card is not linked to you in any way electronically. We recommend you write your name on the back of the card when you purchase it so it can be returned to you if found.
What information is stored in the magnetic stripe?
The only information stored in the magnetic stripe is a unique card identifier and the funds balance on the card. No personal or other information is kept on the card.
What if I lose my card and someone borrows a book with it?
If someone borrows a book with your card then you are liable for that book. You must report a lost card immediately and the old card will be barred from all library and financial transactions straight away.
How will the card show my enrolment for next year?
For the first year of issue of the card the year of enrolment will be printed on the card. In subsequent years a special sticker will be attached to the card to designate enrolment in that year.
What if I need a transport concession sticker?
If you qualify for a transport concession sticker at enrolment then one will be attached to your card. If you do not qualify at enrolment, but a subsequent change qualifies you to hold one then you should go to the Student Centre on level 1 of the Lincoln Student Services Building.
What if I damage the card somehow?
If you damage the card and the barcode no longer scans, or the magnetic stripe no longer reads, or the photo or signature is obscured or scratched then you will need to obtain a new card. You should go to the Loan Enquiries Desk on Level 2. A $10.00 fee will need to be paid.
