Library Building
Background
The Library was built in four stages, commencing in April 1966. Stage I was opened in 1967, and was extended in 1970 with Stages II and III. Stage IV was completed for the start of the academic year 1978.
The building currently provides a net area of 13,800 square metres and
is air-conditioned throughout. There is seating for approximately 1500
readers and the collections within the Library building at present total
over 1,000,000 volumes. There are four main levels to the Library and
the entrance is located on Level 2.
